How do I know if counselling is right for me?
You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit from counselling. Many people come to The Reset Room because they’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck in unhelpful patterns or simply want to better understand themselves. If something is affecting your wellbeing, relationships or ability to enjoy everyday life, counselling can provide a safe space to explore what’s going on and begin creating positive change.
What happens during the first session?
Your first session is about getting to know you. We’ll talk about what’s brought you here, what you’re hoping to achieve and any questions or concerns you might have. There’s no pressure to share everything straight away. My goal is to help you feel comfortable, understood and supported while we begin building a plan that’s tailored to your needs.
What approach do you use?
My work is trauma-informed, attachment-based and grounded in nervous system regulation. Rather than simply talking through challenges, we’ll explore the underlying patterns that may be contributing to them and develop practical tools you can use in everyday life. Every session is tailored to your individual experiences and goals.
How many counselling sessions will I need?
Everyone’s journey is different. Some people experience greater clarity and relief after just a few sessions, while others choose ongoing support as they work through more complex challenges. We’ll regularly review your progress together and ensure your counselling continues to meet your needs and goals.
Do you offer online counselling?
Yes. The Reset Room offers both in-person counselling on the Mornington Peninsula and secure online sessions, making it easier to access support wherever you are. Online counselling provides the same personalised, compassionate approach, allowing you to connect from the comfort of your own home.
